Mother and Daughter Luba Grosman Photography 2018.jpg

“The last time I had professional pictures of myself and my girls done was when they were very young.  With frequent use of our phone camera, we continued to take quick snapshots.  Now my girls are tweens and I decided it was time for a portrait session for all of us.   I wanted to be a part of this experience, to exist in pictures, and to preserve the memory of a connection I have with each of my children.  I was looking for a photographer who can capture my relationship with my children and give us a great experience in the studio.

Luba and I shared a mutual understanding of what was important to me and why I wanted the portraits. Each of us had an opportunity to get photographed individually. My girls were initially shy of the camera but gradually became more confident through interaction with Luba. When it was time to take pictures together, we were ready. Luba gave us time and room to be together and feel like a family. Occasionally she gave us a few directions to fine-tune details of our poses. The images were beautiful and honest! They really reflected the real us and our connections to each other.”

Solange Documentary Family Photography Family Session Part 21785 August 06, 2017.jpg

“Capturing family time, the interaction between us all, and life as it happens is very important to me. We are a busy family, the kids have lots of activities and we love our family time at our country house where we spend time outdoors, at the beach and hanging out. I want to preserve the memories of us all being together and capture each ever changing stage. Bringing Luba to follow us around in a documentary family photography session was great! Her presence was unobtrusive and she made everyone feel comfortable. After a short time we actually didn’t even notice she was there as we were just going about our daily life. She captured so many special moments and so much beauty in the mundane daily routine.

One thing about Luba that I love is she gives personal attention to her clients not only before and during the photoshoot, but also afterwards to the end.  We met after the shoot and had an experience looking together at a slideshow of all the images, as opposed to looking through a gallery to pick the best, which is never an easy process. We then selected images to hang on the wall and to print in an album. Luba took care of all the details to help us create a beautiful story wall in my home and an album which we will cherish for years to come. I was so pleased with the whole process from start to finish and the care and pride that Luba takes in her work.”
